Quota-to-OTE Ratio
Healthy SaaS quota-to-OTE ratios cluster between 4x and 8x. Below 3x breaks unit economics.
Tiered Commission (cumulative)
Each tier pays its own rate only on revenue that falls inside that band. Revenue is sliced across tiers and each slice earns its tier's rate.
Tiered Commission (non-cumulative)
Only the highest attained tier applies - its rate is paid retroactively on all revenue. Tier 2, 3, and 4 rates are ignored once a higher tier is reached.
Accelerator (above 100%)
Single-rate accelerator pays a multiplier on revenue above 100% of quota.
Ramped Quota
Standard 25/50/75/100% four-month ramp (full quota from month 4 onward) paired with non-recoverable draw at a chosen percentage of target variable.
Split Crediting
Two reps share credit on a deal. Splits sum to 100%.
SPIFF Cost
Estimate the cost of a contest paying a fixed bonus per qualifying deal.
Clawback / Churn Adjustment
Pro-rated clawback when a customer cancels inside the clawback window. Typical SaaS windows run 6-12 months.
Commission Cap
Cap total commissions at an annual ceiling. Handy when a plan caps upside at 2x or 3x OTE.
Blended / Effective Rate
Mix of two product lines paying different rates. Shows the true effective commission rate on total revenue.
Recoverable Draw Tracker
Tracks a recoverable draw balance. Commissions earned first offset the draw, then flow to the rep.

Extrapolates year-to-date performance to a full-year projection. Flags reps on track, at risk, or behind.
