  • Plan complexity - tiers, accelerators, splits, and ramps multiply spreadsheet maintenance time.
  • Integrations - pulling from CRM, billing, and HRIS is far cheaper inside a dedicated platform.
  • Audit needs - SOX and ASC 606 require cohort-level commission tagging that spreadsheets struggle to maintain.
  • Growth horizon - doubling rep headcount in 12 months almost always means a platform within the year.
